Martha Willette Lewis creates drawings addressing science and the history of knowledge. Recently, she has been working on a series of three-dimensional drawings based on ideas in physics and math, which follow the folds and volutes of complex crumpled surfaces.

Lewis received a BFA from Cooper Union and an MFA from Yale University. She has shown nationally and internationally, including at The Decordova Museum, Lincoln, MA, The Museum of Modern Art, Oxford, the Tricycle Gallery, London and The Tides Institute and Museum in Eastport, Maine. Lewis is part of a collective art group called Overflow, which has other members including Eva Mantell and Melissa Marks.
