Collection: Richard Dupont

As a means of escaping the uncertainty of the Covid crisis, Richard Dupont found refuge in the endurance of nature. What began as a meditative practice became a daily habit of painting scenes from memory. Rather than following the impulse to rely on image or technology, his work abstracts the natural world, creating landscapes that don’t belong to a particular time and place. Instead, Dupont’s watercolors exist in their uniquely captivating world—an act of creation that Dupont defines as an “ongoing preoccupation with my own disappearing act.”
