Collection: Dana Frankfort | Hi

Dana Frankfort’s paintings revolve around fragments of language—words that hover at the surface in swift, decisive strokes, dissolve beneath translucent washes, or emerge through dense, opaque layers. While their contours provide a formal structure, the words themselves remain elusive. Though readable, they resist fixed meaning, dissolving into the fluid, sensuous vocabulary of paint. Rather than resolving into clarity, her paintings invite viewers to linger in the tension between seeing and reading.
