Katie Merz | Super Ca$h
June 26 ‒ September 7, 2019
This summer, Planthouse is showcasing two of Merz’s installations. First, her outdoor mural, realized this spring. In addition, Merz has taken over the front gallery at Planthouse with her work. This show, known as SuperCa$h, is fun, playful, and highlights Merz’s versatility. Framed works, glissé prints, small cartoons, and a large roof-paper drawing are on view through September 7th.
Katie Merz: street artist, Brooklyn-born, and inspired by the kinetic structure of things. Influenced by many art forms, Merz works on a variety of surfaces but keeps them clear and synthetic. Merz’s work can range from outdoor murals to framed individual pieces to comics on notebook paper. Regardless of the channel through which she presents the art, Merz always aims to depict lines and their changing integrity.
