Unified by an overlying matrix of shapes, the two-layer laser cut print is informed by a diversity of languages and textures of speech. The image resonates with sequences of form overlaid on a rainbow, a natural flag from the sky—a unifying symbol of interconnectedness. 

MATT MAGEE (1961) was born in Paris, France and has a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas and a Master of Fine Arts from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn. He currently lives in Phoenix, Arizona. Magee’s work is held in the collections of Museum Fine Arts Houston, Josef and Anni Albers Foundation, Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, University of New Mexico Art Museum, Phoenix Art Museum, Albuquerque Art Museum, Columbus Museum of Art, JP Morgan Chase Art Collection, New York and Twitter Inc., San Francisco.
