Jamisen Ogg | linear
October 24 – November 30, 2024
Opening Reception: Thursday, October 24, 2024, 6-8PM
For his third solo show at Planthouse, Jamisen Ogg narrows his focus, exhibiting small paintings and drawings. An unfinished painting of a worn rug led Ogg to create this body of work exploring how to weave a painting or a drawing. It is not about weaving as much as it is about making something do a different job in the wrong place and making work where there is none.
While getting lost in those places, Ogg needed to take breaks, make a toy, and be less serious. The sculptures are the interludes. Four completely different thoughts, all wood-centric, historically curious, wo(a)ndering. Point A to point B. Linear.
